Chinese New Yar Library Celebration
Saturday,February 16, 2008
1 - 4 p.m.

South Bay Chinese Club, Citizens for Better Community, and the Fremont Main Library, will celebrate the "Year of the Rat." The Cultural program will include storytelling, dancing, kung fu demonstrations, a children's concert, an adult Chinese choir, and Chinese musical instruments. The Children's Crafts and other Exhibits will run from 1 - 4 p.m.

Can you volunteer 2 or more hours of your time to help with the Children's Crafts?

Please plan to bring your family, friends, children, grandchildren and the whole family to help us welcome the Year of the Rat. We will have raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be sold at the door. We are looking for donations of gifts or items for our raffle. Prizes do not need to be expensive but should be new or in excellent condition. Gift certificates for restaurants, services, wine or liquor, art and craft items, gift basket, and chocolate make good raffle prizes. If you have any raffle prizes you'd like to donate, contact Doris Eng at 408-617-7588 and bring raffle prizes to the dinner

Annual SBCC Fishing Tournament at Lake Del Valle

The Annual SBCC Fishing Tournament for all members of all ages will be Saturday June 9th at Lake Del Valle in Livermore. The hope is that this new location will improve everyone's chances to catch a fish! This is one of the free fishing days, so you only need to pay the park entrance fee. No fishing license needed.

Come and enjoying the fishing and food. Prizes will be awarded for the big catches..

20th Annual SBCSC Golf Tournament

The 20th Annual Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on
Sunday May 20, 2007 at the Sunol Valley Golf Club (Cypress Course). The format is again Medal Stroke Play with Men's & Ladies Handicap & Blind Bogey flights. The Tournament will be followed by the Awards Dinner.

SBCC St Patrick's Day Dinner & Poker/Mah Joong Tournament

Frank & Jean Louie will again host the Club's St. Patrick's Day Dinner & Poker. Be sure to come and enjoy the cornbeef and cabbage and, try your lucky shamrock at Texas Hold'em or Mah Joong!

Another year has come and gone and now it’s time to remember to send in your tax deductible scholarship donations to help support our great community program honoring our best and brightest graduating high school seniors. With your help we are looking forward to another successful year.

Scholarship applications have been available in the high school career centers since November and can also be downloaded from the club website: http://www.sbcclub.org. The application deadline is February 28, 2006.

Be sure to mark your new 2006 calendars with the date and venue of the SBCSC Scholarship Luncheon: Saturday 12 Noon on April 1, 2006 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Newark. Invitations will be mailed in March.
